What it's like to join
There is no shared start time: come whenever the café is open. You pick a bisque piece from the shelves — cups, bowls, plates, vases, over 100 shapes and sit down with 30 glaze colours, brushes, stencils and stamps. No clay and no wheel; the only job is colouring and decorating, each at your own pace, with a drink or one of the café's waffles while you work. When you are done you leave the piece behind, the studio glazes and fires it at over 1,000°C, and you come back for it about 72 hours later. At weekends it opens from 9:00.
